I went to Glacier National Park for the first time last week and decided to hike up to Hidden Lake at sunset. The park has been engulfed with smoke from nearby fires(which there were 27 in Montana last I looked), but at times the wind is able to push it out. Thankfully, most of the smoke had been gone on this side of the park by evening. The wind was pretty strong and it got chilly quickly as the sun went down. I see now that this spot would be great for sunrise as the sun sets behind the mountain.
I’ll have to plan a real adventure here in the future, as this trip was basically a drive through and I didn’t see the entire park.
